Syrian Troops Kill Several Foreign Terrorists in Outskirts of Latakia

The Syrian Army killed a large number of armed militants, including several foreign terrorists, in the suburb of the coastal city of Latakia on Sunday.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Syrian army destroyed several al-Nusra Front bases in Reef (outskirts) Latakia. During the army operations in Al-Ferz neighborhood, a number of foreign terrorists, including a Sudanese, a Saudi and two Libyan nationals, were killed. The Syrian army also killed a terrorist ringleader in Sekriya neighborhood. Atwan al-Askari, the commander of Badr group, was also killed in an army operation in al-Qasba neighborhood. Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against the Syrian police, border guards, statesmen, army and the civilians being reported across the country. Thousands of people have been killed since terrorist and armed groups turned protest rallies into armed clashes. The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad.End item/ 149
